Adpative Path has put forward their imaginings for the future user experience for the web.
I like the ideas that they have, including time based 3d visualization of web browsing history (similar to time machine), the ability to manipulate/visualize data found on the web, and easy sharing/discussion of web content with a social network.
On the other hand, I think (hope) that the future of the web moves in another direction. The current web, for me, conjures up images of people hunched over their computers and iphones, lamenting about how time consuming and overwhelming the internet is becoming.
My somewhat hazy vision for our future web is more simple and tactile technology that can help us move away from our computer screens and interact more closely with the physical world and people around us. For example, I like the geographical based services (e.g. brightkite) that help increase local awareness, as well as simple physical devices such as kindle that support a clear functional purpose.
